MGCB Cracks Down on Illegal Offshore Gambling Websites in Michigan
The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has recently taken strong action against 11 illegal offshore gambling websites operating in the state. These websites include Bet Big Dollar Casino, Blood Moon Casino, DogsFortune, Grand Eagle Online Casino, Highway Casino, Jumba Bet Casino, Las Atlantis Casino, Ruby Slots Casino, Shazam Casino, SlotsRoom, and Spinfinity.
All 11 operators were found to be offering unlicensed gambling services, which is a direct violation of Michigan law. In response, the MGCB has issued cease-and-desist letters to these websites, ordering them to immediately halt their operations.
Violations of Michigan Laws
These offshore platforms were found to be in violation of the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, the Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act, and the Michigan Penal Code. The Executive Director of MGCB, Henry Williams, emphasized the board’s commitment to ensuring a fair, safe, and lawful gaming environment for all Michigan residents.
Henry Williams stated, “Our actions today highlight our determination to hold illegal operators accountable. Shutting down these unlicensed platforms is crucial to maintaining the integrity of Michigan’s regulated gaming industry and protecting residents from predatory practices and unreliable gambling experiences.”
Risks to Gamblers
According to the MGCB, these offshore gambling platforms expose gamblers to financial risks and do not adhere to state standards for responsible gaming, consumer protection, and data security. This leaves users vulnerable to fraud, identity theft, and other financial dangers.
Enforcement and Legal Actions
The operators of these illegal offshore gambling websites have been given 14 days to cease operations in Michigan. Failure to comply will result in legal action pursued by the MGCB and the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
